Day One

Wednesday 24 June - Travelling to Rotorua

Dressed warmly for our mid-winter adventure today, we gather at our favourite Sanson eatery and central meeting point - the Woolshed Café - for a buffet lunch (included).

We then continue our journey to Rotorua this afternoon, with a break to stretch our legs in Taupo. Checking into our accommodation at Sudima Rotorua on the lake’s shore, there
will be time to relax and settle in before dinner. Bring your Christmas hats and festive attire to dinner this evening and treat yourself to a mulled wine as we enjoy a beautiful
Christmas themed buffet.

Day Two

Thursday 25 June - Rotorua Around and About

We have a leisurely start this morning before we embark on the day’s adventures.

Heading to Wingspan National Bird of Prey Centre we will see birds of prey up close during interactive flying displays, hosted by the country’s leading experts. The displays showcase the spectacular flying skills of these amazing birds and are a unique educational experience. Wingspan actively supports wild populations by releasing captive bred falcons and rehabilitating injured wild birds.
Departing Wingspan we head off to Mamaku Express Rail cruising. Here we enjoy lunch (included) before setting off on their nifty little rail cruising carts. Cruising along at 20km
per hour, you can listen to the audio tour and discover a unique piece of New Zealand railway history. The RailCruiser has comfortable seats with unobstructed 360-degree
views, is fitted with clear drop-down waterproof sides and comes with on board heating for our mid-winter jaunt.
This evening we dine out at the renowned Prince’s Gate Boutique Hotel. “Life is a cabaret, old chum, come to the cabaret!” We enjoy their popular cabaret dinner, a 5-course dining experience in the elegant dining room, interspersed with cabaret numbers performed live, to delight and entertain. An experience not to be missed!

Day 3

Friday 26 June - Travelling Home

Departing Rotorua promptly this morning we stop at Lava Glass in Taupo, where we are welcomed to watch some of the most mind-blowing creativity being turned into stunning pieces of art work.

There are more than 600 art glass sculptures at the Lava
Glass garden, and you can take a stroll around ponds and through fields of glass flowers to enjoy the masterpieces glinting in the sun. There is an abundance of serene spots to sit and take in the beauty. We also enjoy morning tea here (included) before hitting the road to head home. After our lunch stop at Taihape (own choice and cost), we farewell our fellow travellers and new friends in Palmerston North before delivering everyone back to their home.
